University Leadership
Bastyr University leadership is composed of senior organizational leaders who represent academics, finance, strategy, and student affairs. Members advise the president on direction, planning, and policy in alignment with the university’s mission, values, and vision. It is the role of leadership to support the health of this university and propel it forward.
President Randy Frisch, PhD, JD
- Provides strategic leadership to enhance financial performance.
- Aligns operational plans with the university’s business objectives.
- Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Reports to the board of trustees and confers with members of the leadership team.
Chancellor Joseph Pizzorno, ND
- Expand Bastyr's ability to heal humankind, bringing medicine to more people.
- Collaborate with leaders in naturopathic medicine and aligned health sciences around the world to extend our reach and bring more knowledge to our campuses.
- Serve as an academic steward to the university, and mentor more of our dynamic faculty and clinicians as they prepare to serve the generations to come.
Vice President of Strategy & Operations Kathy Fritch, PhD
- Shapes and implements strategic initiatives in alignment with the vision set forth by the president and board of trustees.
- Oversees online division, including the delivery and development of hybrid and digital learning programs in collaboration with academic leaders.
- Integrates administrative work across teams and functions to foster healthy collaboration and effective operations.
- Advisor to the president and member of the cabinet.
Vice President of Student Affairs Susan Weider
- Oversees student life outside of class.
- Manages student support programs and directs student events.
- Advises student council and government groups.
- Addresses issues and complaints of students as the university’s Title IX administrator.
- Advisor to the president and member of the cabinet.
