Transfer to Bastyr

Bastyr University accepts graduate transfer credits earned at accredited colleges and universities. If you have completed a professional program such as chiropractic, allopathic or osteopathic medicine, you may be eligible for advanced standing. Additionally, if you have attended but not graduated from similar graduate or professional programs, such as acupuncture and east Asian medicine, you may be eligible to transfer your credits. Naturopathic medicine applicants seeking transfer credit will be required to pay a $150 transfer evaluation fee, Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine, and Midwifery applicants will be required to pay a $100 transfer evaluation fee.

All students entering undergraduate degree programs at Bastyr University are considered transfer students. To be admitted to an undergraduate degree program at Bastyr University, students must meet the following criteria:   

  1. Complete 90 quarter (60 semester) credits from a regionally accredited college or university or its equivalent (only courses with a grade of C or higher are transferrable)*   

  1. Achieve a Cumulative GPA of 2.5 and Prerequisite GPA of 2.0   

  1. Complete the General Education and Program Prerequisite requirements   

Undergraduate transfer students who complete one of the following transfer degrees will satisfy the General Education requirements:   

  • Associate of Arts (AA)   

  • Associate of Science (AS)   

  • Direct Transfer Associate (DTA) [WA state]   

  • Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) [CA state]   

  • California State University Breadth [CA state]   

  • Associate Degree for Transfer [CA state]   
    Note: Technical degrees, such as Applied Science degrees, will not automatically satisfy the General Education requirements. They will be reviewed on a course-by-course basis.   

  • Students may transfer a maximum of 135 quarter credits or 90 semester credits toward an undergraduate degree at the University.
