Posture literally affects every physiological function of the body. Do you want to make significant change to your patient’s posture in less than ten minutes? Better understand the root causes of your patient’s structural problems and how to help them? This hands-on workshop will help you achieve these goals, and much more. Nov 8, Sat to Nov 9, Sun, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Instructor: Dirk Farrell. (12 CEUs)

Description: During the first portion of the seminar learn the biomechanics of the spine and spinal cord, as well as the critical information pertaining to spinal cord adhesions and spinal cord tension. Explore the tethered cord syndrome which will help you understand, diagnose and treat your patients more effectively and efficiently. From head to toe, mechanical problems in your patient’s structure are decreasing their ability to heal. Fortunately, the explanation for those problems will be made very clear and usable. In the way that the equation E=mc2 summarizes a tremendous amount of physics data, ABC™ summarizes a tremendous amount of information about body mechanics bringing you greater understanding in readily useable form.

The remaining day-and-a-half is dedicated to instructor demonstration, hands-on skill development and application of this foundational protocol. The First Rib Maneuver™ alone, done correctly, will improve your patient’s posture, breathing, color (blood flow) and balance in moments. You will be able to return to your clinic on Monday morning, and immediately apply these new skills with each and every patient.

Upon completion of the seminar you will be able to:

  • Explain the steps of break-down of human posture
  • Describe the effects of breakdown in global posture and segmental posture on the spinal cord
  • Describe the effects of bone alignment on muscle tension
  • Identify areas of spinal cord adhesion
  • Identify and correct bones that have moved in directions no body can self-correct
  • Demonstrate the effects of different shapes of shoes, seats, beds and pillows on posture
  • Demonstrate the First Rib Maneuver™
  • Practice the Advanced BioStructural Correction™ protocol from C7 down to the feet and back

Meals: One hour lunch break - Bring a sack lunch or eat in Bastyr's dining commons.

Location: Bastyr University Kenmore Campus, room # 146. Bastyr University is housed in an older facility with fluctuating interior temperatures; it is advisable to wear layers. Also, Bastyr is a “fragrance-free” campus.

Audience: The seminar content has been designed for licensed health care professionals; however, the general public is invited to attend as well

Dirk Farrell is a chiropractic physician specializing in Advanced BioStructural Correction™ and postural correction. He has been in private practice for more than 18 years since graduating summa cum laude from Life Chiropractic College West.
