Eric Yarnell, ND, graduated from Bastyr University in 1996. He is an associate professor of botanical medicine at Bastyr and chief medical officer of Northwest Naturopathic Urology. He is the author of several textbooks including Natural Approach to Gastroenterology (2nd edition), Naturopathic Urology and Men's Health, and Natural Approach to Nephrology (forthcoming). He completed a two-year residency with Silena Heron, ND, and is past chair of botanical medicine at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. He also played a small role in the founding of the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, is the founder and chief operations officer of Healing Mountain Publishing, and vice president of Heron Botanicals.
Lyn Patrick, ND, graduated from Bastyr University in 1984, and has been actively practicing naturopathic medicine for 24 years. Her current practice is in Durango, CO. She is a contributing editor for the Alternative Medicine Review, and a consulting member of the board of directors for the American College for the Advancement of Medicine for which she designs curricula and teaches heavy metal toxicology courses. She also serves as faculty for the environmental medicine certification course with Dr. Walter Crinnion.
Matthew Brignall, ND, is an adjunct professor at Bastyr University, where he teaches clinical nutrition and standards of care. He also is a supervisor at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, specializing in providing naturopathic care to patients receiving standard oncology management. As health sciences director for Salugenecists, Inc, he designs artificial intelligence assessment tools and wellness programs for corporations and insurance providers. Dr. Brignall completed his premedical training at the University of Michigan and received his ND degree from Bastyr University in 1999.
Dr. Rountree, MD, is the Chief Medical Officer for Thorne Research, a nutraceutical company based in Dover, Idaho. He is also a long-standing member of the core faculty for the Institute for Functional Medicine in Gig Harbor, WA. In addition, he is a faculty member for the Fellowship in Anti-aging and Regenerative Medicine sponsored by the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and is the clinical editor as well as a regular columnist for Alternative and Complementary Therapies (Liebert Publishing). A co-author of seven books on integrative and nutritional medicine, he has maintained a private practice in functional medicine in Boulder, Colorado, since 1983.
Alex Vasquez, DC, ND, DO, is a graduate of University of Western States (Doctor of Chiropractic, 1996), Bastyr University (Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, 1999), and University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, 2010). Dr Vasquez is the author of several textbooks: Integrative Orthopedics (2004, 2007), Integrative Rheumatology (2006, 2007), Musculoskeletal Pain: Expanded Clinical Strategies (published by the Institute for Functional Medicine, 2008), Chiropractic and Naturopathic Mastery of Common Clinical Disorders (2009), and Integrative Medicine and Functional Medicine for Chronic Hypertension (2011). He has also written more than 90 letters and articles in professional magazines and medical journals such as The Lancet, BMJ - British Medical Journal, Annals of Pharmacotherapy, Nutritional Perspectives, JMPT - Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics, JAMA - Journal of the American Medical Association, Original Internist, Integrative Medicine, Holistic Primary Care, Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, JAOA - Journal of the American Osteopathic Association, Dynamic Chiropractic, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, and Arthritis & Rheumatism (official journal of the American College of Rheumatology). Dr Vasquez lectures internationally to healthcare professionals and practices in Oregon.
Patrick Donovan , RN, ND, has been a health care professional for 40 years and a practicing naturopathic physician for 26 years. He has been voted one of Seattle’s “Top Doctors,” is co-owner of The University Health Clinic and The Dispensary Online, is an adjunct clinical professor at Bastyr’s Center for Natural Health, and has authored two books: The Face of Consciousness and Dancing with the Beloved.
Dr. Jena M. Peterson, ND, LMP is a graduate of the University of Arizona in premed studies in 1996, where she worked with Dr. Andrew Weil and his first group of fellows in the Integrative Medicine Program at the University of Arizona. Dr. Peterson graduated from Bastyr University in 2004, and completed a Family Practice residency from 2004-2006 at the Evergreen Center for Integrative Medicine, where she has been in private practice as a primary care physician since. She has a focus on chronic infectious disease, including Lyme Disease, and on pediatrics.
