Allured by the moon? The moon holds mysteries that are revealed if we just acknowledge her presence. The moon, as goddess, is a part of our lives and is especially connected to women. Becoming aware of her phases, her relationship to us, and her magick can open a new world of knowledge. Instructor: Sonya-Prajna Lasker, PhD, D. Div, CHt April 20, Sat, 12-3p.m. 3 HRs

You will learn about the myths and lore of the moon, as well as goddesses and their symbols that are associated with the moon. The Moon holds mysteries that are revealed, if we just acknowledge her presence. Throughout time and many cultures, her illumination has been worshipped and adored. In the past, and in our present time, the Moon, as Goddess, has been a part of our lives. Class discussion and activities will further explore our relationship to the moon, and how to use the phases of the moon to incorporate her magickal presence into our lives.

Upon completion of the seminar you will be able to:

  • Describe myths and lore associated with the moon
  • List five of the Goddesses and their symbolism associated with the moon
  • Describe the phases of the moon
  • Describe how to incorporate the magick of the moon into your life

Sonya-Prajna Lasker, PhD, D. Div, CHt, has always been fascinated with seeking knowledge and understanding with regards to metaphysical studies and New Age awareness. During her journey she discovered the benefits and healing quality of Reiki, and became a Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Master and teacher. She has also completed a yoga teacher training program, as well as taught yoga, meditation and Reiki classes.

Sonya completed her PhD in Parapsychology and Paranormal Sciences. She is qualified to provide instruction and services in alternative methods relating to the metaphysical sciences. Additionally, she received her Doctorate of Divinity in Spiritual Counseling in order to assist others on their spiritual journey. While studying for her doctorate, Sonya-Prajna was further drawn to hypnotherapy as an additional healing modality. She is a now a certified hypnotherapist, as well as an Ordained Reverend.

Sonya-Prajna believes we are all students and teachers, and that we should become lifelong learners in order to help one another. The more we learn, the more we grow, and the more we can influence the world. She brings enthusiasm and joy to her teaching.

Course Notes

Location:  Bastyr University Kenmore Campus, room 1011. Bastyr University is housed in an older facility with fluctuating interior temperatures; it is advisable to wear layers. Also, Bastyr is a “fragrance-free” campus.
