Bastyr University's annual "Haunted Trails" is returning for another year of spooky fun! Hosted in the forest behind Bastyr University's Kenmore campus the weekends of October 12-13 and 19-20, the event is one of the biggest scarefests in the area and includes frightfully enjoyable activities for teenagers and adults, as well as trick-or-treating for children ages 8 and younger. And it's all for a good cause, as proceeds benefit student study abroad programs.
Festivities begin for ages 8 and younger with The Great Pumpkin's Trick-or-Treating Adventure from 5-6:45 p.m. (cost is $5 per child), followed by the Children's Carnival from 5:30-9 p.m.
Then things get scary when the Haunted Trails open from 7-11 p.m. each Friday and Saturday night ($20 per person). Events include:
(Please note that we do not allow children under 8 into these events. We find that it traumatizes the younger ones which is not our intent. We only want to give the adults nightmares!)
Tickets are available in advance at HauntedTrails.org or at the door starting at 6:30 p.m. Please note that a limited number of tickets are sold each night. The second weekend of Haunted Trails, October 19-20, is very busy and tickets can sell out as early as 8:45 p.m. Visitors are advised to come the first weekend, Oct. 12-13, when lines are shorter.
