This seminar was originally recorded at Bastyr University in October 2011.
Extensive research worldwide has proven the benefits of Ayurvedic nutrition and herbs in both preventing as well as treating cancer. Ayurveda acknowledges that each person is a unique individual with a unique mind-body type - a unique psycho-somatic constitution. Individuals of specific mind-body type are prone to certain cancers based on various contributing causative factors.
This home study is appropriate for healthcare practitioners or individuals seeking information for themselves or their family members. Learn how to take a personal health history, make observations and use standardized questionnaires to evaluate the Ayurvedic mind-body type of any person. You will identify your own unique mind-body type and learn how to prevent and augment traditional cancer treatments using healthy nutrition, natural herbs, physical activity and other lifestyle changes.>
Explore the latest research on both nutritional supplements as well as herbal medicines which have been proven effective in prevention and treatment of cancer. In addition, you will learn how to minimize side effects of various chemical medicines used in treatment of cancer, and how to develop a healthy lifestyle plan for yourself or your patient
Upon completion of this home study you will be able to:
- Describe the three different Ayurvedic mind-body types.
- Identify a person’s Ayurvedic mind-body type with the help of a standardized questionnaire.
- Describe the causative factors for cancer.
- Describe at least five ways of using herbs and nutrition to prevent and/or treat cancer.
- Describe a healthy lifestyle plan to prevent and treat cancer.
Post-course quiz must be completed with a score of 75 percent or higher to receive CEUs.
