Join the actress and health author at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel to support uncompensated care services at Bastyr Center for Natural Health.
At Bastyr University’s annual Spring for Health Luncheon, guests will lunch-and-learn with Mariel Hemingway, an accomplished actress and author who focuses on healthful mind-body habits and purposeful living.
Hemingway, who has starred in such movies as Manhattan, Lipstick and Personal Best, has written four books:
Finding My Balance, a best-selling memoir of her life’s journey through the lens of her personal yoga and meditation practices (2003)
Healthy Living from the Inside Out, a how-to guide to finding a greater sense of balance, joy, and meaning through self-empowering techniques and strategies (2007)
The healthy lifestyle cookbook Mariel’s Kitchen, focused on creative and delicious gluten- and sugar-free offerings (2009)
Running With Nature, co-authored with her life partner Bobby Williams, which shares insights about the value of good nutrition, meditation, movement, silence, simple living, connectedness to self and earth, and an awareness of simple timeless anti-aging modalities (2013)
Arrive early for health screenings from Bastyr Center for Natural Health clinicians at 11:15 a.m., followed by lunch at noon.
Cost is $175 per person or $1,750 for a table of eight guests and two Bastyr students. All proceeds support Bastyr Center for Natural Health uncompensated care services, which provide access to low-income, uninsured, senior, and HIV-positive patients.
