The purpose of this project is to study the alterations in iron metabolism present in patients with Parkinson’s disease as compared to healthy subjects, and the effect of lifestyle habits such as smoking and diet, or genetic traits such as haptoglobin phenotype, on iron levels. The study is recruiting both patients with PD and healthy participants without PD (healthy participants of age 52-82 years old).
