Description
Beer gives a yeasty flavor to this quick bread made without yeast. Toast the bread or use it for sandwiches.
Ingredients
2 1⁄2 cup
all-purpose flour 1 cup
whole wheat flour 1 tsp
salt 1⁄2 tsp
baking soda 1 tsp
baking powder 1 large
egg 12 oz
beer (not too dark) 1 tbsp
olive oil 2 clove
garlic, finely minced or mashed 2⁄3 cup
chopped olives 1 tsp
dried oreganoInstructions
Preheat oven to 350. Grease a loaf pan. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add egg, beer, garlic and oil and mix gently. Add olives and oregano and stir until just mixed. Spoon the batter into a loaf pan and bake 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Turn the bread out onto a rack to cool.
