Lodging & Transportation - Continuing Education
Parking
We advise that you park in or close to the main parking lot in front of the pillars at the building entrance. On weekends only the exterior doors on either side of the "fountain courtyard" are unlocked.
Parking is free for our Bastyr guests. However, a guest parking pass must be displayed on your dashboard. Those without a pass risk being towed. With a guest pass displayed on your dash you can park in any spot that is not reserved for a special population (i.e., handicap, carpool, faculty, board members and the president).
There are various ways to obtain a guest parking pass:
- Participants of a continuing education seminar: Print a parking pass and place it on your dash. Should you forget your parking pass, your seminar host can give you a pass upon check-in.
- Visitors to campus Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Stop at the reception office for a guest pass. Reception is located under the pillars at the building entrance.
- Contact the continuing education department: Email continuinged[at]bastyr[dot]edu or call (425) 602-3152, and we will email you a pass that you can print out at home.
Transportation from Sea-Tac Airport
The Bastyr campus is a 40 to 90 minute drive from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, depending on time of day and traffic. Shuttle Express (1-800-487-7433) offers door-to-door service, as do commercial taxis. Although there is bus service to Bastyr, the route involves many transfers and there can be long waits.
Lodging
Hotels – Several hotels are located within 6 to 10 miles of Bastyr. None are located within walking distance or on easy bus routes. Most likely you will need a car, or you can take a taxi to Bastyr. Download a hotel list (pdf).
Campus Dorms – Bastyr has several dorm rooms available for single or double occupancy. Two rooms include a private bathroom, but most dorm guests use the shared bathroom and showers down the hall. You can download a dorm room flier (pdf) to see pictures, a description, prices and how to reserve a room.
Student Village – Rooms may be available in Bastyr's student village, a short walk from the main building. There are eleven suites which share common space. Each suite is a bedroom and adjoining private bathroom.
Classroom Information - Continuing Education
The classroom location for your event can be found in the event-page description (listed on the website).
On the day of the class, we will display colorful signage around campus directing you to your class.
We recommend that you check the website prior to attending class for any classroom location changes.
We advise you to enter campus through the pillars at the main entrance. Under the pillars on the right is an electronic reader board that will list events and classes on campus along with classroom numbers. Immediately below the reader board is a floor plan of the building.
Cancellation, Transfer & Refund Policy - Continuing Ed
Please submit your request in writing (email or fax). Unless otherwise specified in the individual course descriptions, cancellations or transfers made up to 14 calendar days before the first day of the course will result in a refund, less a $35 processing fee or 20 percent of tuition, whichever is less. No refunds are granted for cancellations made with less than the 14-day notice, nor for home study courses once the registration and payment have been processed.
Returned checks will be assessed a $28 fee. Students registered for the full course will not be refunded for any missed sessions and may not receive certificates of completion for partial completion of a seminar. Bastyr University reserves the right to cancel courses with insufficient enrollment, in which case a full refund will be granted to those registered.
Transfers
Students may transfer between courses or class sessions. A processing fee of $35 or 20% (whichever is less) will be accessed. A request for transfer can be made up to two weeks before a course start.
FERPA
Bastyr University adheres to FERPA guidelines (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).
Inclement Weather Policy - Continuing Education
