Tiffany M. Reiss, MS, PhD

Dr. Reiss is director of the Exercise Science and Wellness program at Bastyr University and an adjunct faculty member at Seattle University.
Education
- BS and MS in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University in 1992 and 1996, respectively
- Didactic Program in Dietetics program at Appalachian State University in 1996
- PhD in Health Promotion from Virginia Tech in 2001
Past Experience
Dr. Reiss' experience includes serving as a university health promotion coordinator, WIC nutritionist, corporate fitness manager, graduate-level instructor and research assistant.

Interests
Dr. Reiss is interested in the impact of perception and paradigms on overall health and wellness as well as the psychology of health promotion, dietary choices and physical activity.
Philosophy
Dr. Reiss views herself as something akin to a coach. She provides the foundation or developmental model (material) and both the academic and practical practice; she then asks the students to perform on exams and demonstrate what they have learned, much like in a sporting event. She is available to assist, encourage and motivate students.
Specialty
Dr. Reiss specializes in corporate/community health promotion programs, eating disordered behavior in female athletes, ergogenic aids and athletic performance.
