Bastyr University seeks a Dean for the School of Natural Health Arts and Sciences, which includes Basic Sciences, Exercise Science and Wellness, Health Psychology, Midwifery, Allied Birth Vocations and Nutrition. The Dean will support, advocate for, and promote the individual programs, and the vision of the school, both within the university and in the community. This person will coordinate the development of flexible and innovative educational delivery methods and provide leadership and oversight for the development of new programs. The Dean will ensure compliance with University and academic policies and procedures, as well as appropriate accreditation standards. Position expectation includes some teaching responsibilities within the professional field of the applicant.
Qualifications
PhD or appropriate terminal degree (preferably in one of the disciplines taught in the school) is required. Three or more years of teaching, significant academic administrative experience and budget development experience. Candidates must have demonstrated evidence of academic planning, curriculum and faculty development. The Dean will have demonstrated collaborative management and leadership experience in undergraduate, graduate or allied health education and the ability of working effectively with diverse student, faculty and professional groups.
