Duties
Bastyr Center for Natural Health in Wallingford is looking for a Medical Records Certified Specialist who will act as the front line resource for staff, faculty and students for medical records information including standards of charting and general health information management. The Medical Records Certified Specialist will provide coverage of the Medical Records Helpline during assigned shifts; provide appropriate and timely follow-up to questions, assistance with concerns and Medical Records related needs of patients, students, staff and faculty. The person will also provide accurate, timely processing and follow-up of incoming and outgoing medical records requests; help sort and log incoming mail and other Medical Records related forms.
Qualifications
Completion of AA program in Medical Records Technology or certification as a RHIT is required. Prior experience working in a medical records office setting is also required. Other requirements include a minimum of two years customer service related office setting experience and 3 years experience in a medical office setting involving excellent record keeping skills and experience handling records or management of protected health information. Must be detailed oriented, have excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task plus work well under pressure. In addition to having excellent customer service skills, candidates will need to tactfully and professionally problem solve, work well both independently and cooperatively as a member of a team.
