Bastyr University seeks a full-time Applications Specialist/Developer to round out our team of eleven close-knit IT staff members. This position will design and update application interfaces to a variety of SQL server databases utilizing ASP, VB.NET, and Access. Provide support and troubleshooting for third party software products. Coordinate and participate in development and upgrading projects including requirements gathering, project scheduling, and documentation. Develop reports using Crystal Reports and other tools including the creation of data sets from source databases using SQL. Serve as emergency backup for SQL database (really only in an emergency!).
Qualifications
A four-year degree in computer sciences or equivalent experience is required. At least two years experience as an IT professional including database support, design and creation of forms and reports, retrieval of data and creation of web interfaces needed. Must be proficient in ASP or VB.NET, IIS web server, and SQL; with basic understanding of MS SQL Server. Strong people and communication skills, problem solving skills, and project management skills needed.
