Bastyr University has a great opportunity for a Clinic Senior Accountant at our Bastyr Center for Natural Health in the Wallingford area of Seattle. The Clinic Senior Accountant is responsible for making certain monthly close back-up has been reviewed and signed off by Operations Manager prior to monthly close of clinic books. This person must be proficient in university Finance policies and procedures, budget and GL mechanics and processes and be a resource to the clinic in these areas. Validate financial activity from Centricity billing/AR system and Clinic dispensaries, and prepare/post entries in University General Ledger. Prepares quarterly presentation of financial results versus budget on a QTD, YTD, full year and five-year basis, as well as analysis of other key metrics, including visit counts and distribution, discounts and patient demographics. Must be able to create reports, spreadsheets and graphics for use in Board of Trustee meetings and to advise senior management. Clinic Senior Accountant supports Clinic budget, restricted budgets and capital expenditure accounting tasks under direction of clinic senior management, including monthly review of management projections, annual budget process and preparation of monthly and quarterly reports for Clinic Director and Finance Committee of the Board. This position will report to the University Controller, while the Clinic Operations Manager is the key Clinic reporting position for this position.
Qualifications
BA or BS degree in Accounting or Financial Management needed. Five years of experience as an accountant, including general ledger, A/P, A/R and budget planning; two to three years of progressively more advanced experience as a senior accountant in the field of healthcare. Two to three years experience in preparing management reports and in working cross-departmentally. Ability to use Centricity (CPS06) at a level of expertise for reports, reconciliation and research; plus other complex database use as requested.
