Vital Kids Medicine is moving and growing! We are looking for a part-time nutritionist to join our team!
Title: Registered Dietitian
Location: Seattle, WA
Status: starting 7-10 hours a week with the possibility of moving into more hours as we grow
Salary: DOE
Schedule:
Part-time, some evening times required.
Position Summary:
The dietitian is responsible for providing direct patient contact, including assessing the nutritional status of pediatric patients, providing nutritional counseling and education and assisting with meal planning with a particular focus on GAPS diet, GF/ CF, and food allergy/ elimination diets. Additional diets that would be helpful for dietitian to have knowledge of include: low oxalate, low phenol, and Feingold diets. The dietitian works with naturopathic physician to provide comprehensive treatment for patients and help with weekly group visits.
Other duties may include:
Weekly nutrition groups/ classes
Ongoing individual nutrition counseling and education
Menu planning and minor food preparation
Case consultation and team meetings
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in food and nutrition.
Current certification/registration in the state of Washington or RD eligible with potential of being certified/registered by October/ November 2012.
Experience with nutritional counseling in the pediatric population
Preferred experience working with children on the autism spectrum and with other behavioral/ developmental concerns
PREREQUISITES:
Is currently a Registered Dietitian or Registration eligible by the American Dietetic Association (must be obtained within probationary period).
Certified Dietitian in the State of Washington is required
One year's experience as a clinical dietitian preferred.
Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
Able to meet the professional appearance standards of the organization.
Demonstrates good interpersonal skills in a diverse population.
Demonstrates ability to work independently.
Able to communicate and work effectively with varying physical and emotional developmental age groups.
Demonstrates experience in providing excellent customer service.
Demonstrates basic knowledge of working a computer (MAC), be able to use electronic medical records
