Bastyr seeking AOM Teaching Fellows!

Bastyr University's School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine has two positions open, for 1) Teaching Fellow, and 2) Research Teaching Fellow. See below for job descriptions and where to apply.

Research Teaching Fellow:
This position reports to the Dean. Teaching Responsibilities: Investigate and experience a variety of methodologies and learning situations. Work cooperatively with Bastyr faculty to prepare and present student learning experiences. Teach and do occasional guest lectures for classes within the School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and provide coverage for student clinic supervision shifts as needed. Assist the Dean and faculty of the School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Program on projects as assigned by the Dean. Research Responsibilities: Mentor students in the conduct of rigorous scientific research using accepted methodologies. Work cooperatively with Bastyr faculty to prepare and present students with research experiences. Develop research infrastructure, such as using the electronic health record or molecular models for the study of TCM therapies. Analysis, interpret and publish scientific results. Grant writing experience strongly preferred. Experience/Education: Must be a WA State licensed acupuncturist with a Chinese herbal medicine certificate, or equivalent. Two years of research experience in public health, basic science, clinical or behavioral science research setting. Knowledge: Must be familiar with the appropriate conduct of clinical research, including familiarity with grant writing, research design methodologies, the ethical conduct of human subjects research, development and implementation of scientific protocols, and the presentation and publication of study results. Skills/Abilities: Ability to use word processing and spreadsheets in the preparation of research proposals and manuscripts. Ability to manage scientific data in compliance with HIPAA and regulatory guidelines for the conduct of Human Subject Research. Ability to use graphical software, databases, and statistical software (e.g. STATA, SPSS, SAS, R) to analyze research data. Teaching Fellow:

Assist the Dean and faculty of the School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Program. This position reports to the Dean.
