Health Services Consultant position at WA State Department of Health

This position promotes the effectiveness of the Office of Newborn Screening (NBS) by serving as the primary person responsible for monitoring hospitals and clinics for compliance with NBS requirements and program standards by compiling and comparing newborn screening data for all babies born in Washington State. The incumbent will match births to NBS tests utilizing an interactive database program and identify those infants not screened (or with inadequate screening) through a process of selecting and comparing appropriate data fields and resolving discrepancies between reported births and NBS data. The position will review data within the patient database for completeness and accuracy and compile data for use in reports to physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers. The position will also work directly with hospital and clinic staff to improve compliance with newborn screening requirements.
