Many cultures have traditions of clearing. Energy clearing, based in the Five Elements principles of Chinese medicine, is the practice of letting go and allowing your energetic system to regain balance. You can utilize clearing to improve all aspects of your daily life. Every relationship functions best when each person is in balance, whether at home or in the work place. We all know how easy it is for our energetic systems to get out of balance. The wisdom of the Five Elements system of Chinese Medicine is that it is based in the understanding and observation of the cycles of nature: all systems have a natural flow, including our own, and want to be in balance. 20% of Americans age 12 and older have hearing loss and it is creating an invisible barrier between them and their families, doctors, friends, and coworkers. Further, 40% of those ages 60-69 have hearing loss. There are a lot of dangerous misconceptions about adult-onset hearing loss, primarily that patients will know when it is ‘bad enough to get hearing aids’ and that hearing loss is an unavoidable part of aging. Research has shown leaving it unaddressed leads to decreased brain volume and income, as well as dramatically increased risk of fall, dementia, and depression (even when corrected for age). Let’s talk about what hearing loss really means for your patients, what surprising things you can learn from their hearing test about their health, and how your treatment plan can prevent the hearing loss domino effect. Sat, March 5, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Instructor: Alexandra deGroot (3.5 CEUs)

Srotas is a pathway, subtle or gross channel made up of tissues that carry nutrients, other substances and energies from place to place in the body. It is also through these channels that information and intelligence spontaneously flow. Each channel has a root, which is a governing organ or area of the body, a pathway, and an opening or outlet. Assessment of the srotas is one of the means in Ayurveda by which diseases can be distinguished. By knowing which srotas are affected and the nature of the disturbance, one can understand a great deal about the disease process and determine a treatment protocol.
