Mudras are hand gestures used for cultivating specific states of mind. It is believed that the practice of Mudra helps to awaken these states within you. Mudras can be found in the art and rituals of many sacred traditions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Hatha yoga. The origins of specific Mudras are unknown, but it is believed that each gesture is the natural outer expression of an enlightened inner state. In this workshop several of the major Mudras will be introduced and explored with an emphasis on how performing a Mudra affects the strength and balance of the upper trunk and shoulders.
Some prior yoga experience is recommended.

Many cultures have traditions of clearing. Energy clearing, based in the Five Elements principles of Chinese medicine, is the practice of letting go and allowing your energetic system to regain balance. You can utilize clearing to improve all aspects of your daily life. Every relationship functions best when each person is in balance, whether at home or in the work place. We all know how easy it is for our energetic systems to get out of balance. The wisdom of the Five Elements system of Chinese Medicine is that it is based in the understanding and observation of the cycles of nature: all systems have a natural flow, including our own, and want to be in balance. Addiction exploits a basic vulnerability of the brain. It moves us towards things that feel good and away from things that generate pain or disgust. Addiction, no matter what the substance or activity, begins as the former and ends up drowning us in the latter. Recent research findings from social policy studies and contemplative and cognitive neuroscience are providing us with some exciting and unlikely possibilities for creatively and comprehensively addressing this increasing human challenge.

Interested to know what research says about the effects of screen time and interactive talking toys for your little one? Current research indicates that delays seen in school could be linked with an out of balance brain and nerve system from birth through the early childhood years. Find out how easy it is to create the best environment for encouraging a healthy brain in your baby. Proper stimulation to the brain early on results in healthy development patterns, better emotional control and the best bonding with your newborn or child. You will learn what normal developmental windows are and what to do should your child fall outside those normal ranges.

We live and love in an accelerating current of cultural change. We can’t really go back to have things as they “might have been,” but we can continue to grow and learn so that what is truly ours may flourish.

What are the principles that support “relationship,” yet honor our unique differences and other people’s rules?
This course offers new tools of self-assessment and harmonious dialogue for all relationships, both personal and professional.

Holidays can be a time of great joy or sorrow. The media tells us it’s a time to spend with family and loved ones. When you’ve lost a loved one on or close to a holiday, you’ve got a sad reminder each year of that event. For some, the issue might not be the death of a loved one but a traumatic experience that occurred on a holiday such as a fire, or tragic accident on July 4th.

How do we cope with those losses? How do we express our grief so that others will respect our wishes for celebrating the holiday or not?
