Gain a practical understanding of the energetics employed when using Master Tung’s Points. Master Tung Ching Chang was the living heir of a very unique acupuncture system. Though we can utilize our understanding of TCM from the Huang Di Nei Jing, this system stands alone. We’ll start with a brief history of Master Tung and his lineage, introduce Tung’s acupuncture, and provide an overview of the energetics employed when using Master Tung’s Points. We’ll further detail Master Tung’s Point system and review the most commonly used acupuncture points and point combinations. In this class, Susan Johnson will provide very detailed point descriptions for a wide variety of the most commonly used acupuncture points and point combinations from this system. June 5-7, Fri 1-5 p.m., Sat 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sun 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Instructor: Susan Johnson. (15.5 CEUs, PDAs)

Would you like to be happier? How about less anxiety, clearer thinking and easily resisting the things that aren’t good for you? Or, perhaps let go of the past and create more loving relationships in the future? Our energy patterns are what keep us stuck. It is very hard to change our emotions, thoughts and actions by sheer will power. Yet, if you shift the energy patterns while thinking about the problem and the desired outcome, you will change your mind, body and spirit all at the same time. Sat, June 6, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Instructor: Stephanie Eldringhoff. (6 CEUs, PDAs, CMEs)

Most of the restrictions in the body develop as a response to some form of trauma in the life of the client (including prenatal experiences). In CranioSacral Levels 1 and 2, the focus is on a biomechanical/structural approach to releasing restrictions found in the body, the cranium and the face. In Level 3, the focus shifts to another aspect of “restriction” in the body - the emotional response, which can also develop as a response to some form of trauma. June 12-14, Fri 1-8:30 p.m., Sat and Sun 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Instructors: Nancy Witt and Einat Arian. (21 CEUs, PDAs, CMEs)

The Certificate Program includes completion of all three craniosacral courses (Levels 1-3), and requires that you attend supervised practice sessions, participate in two-way trades with sequential SOAP charting, conduct client craniosacral sessions with a variety of clients, receive personal treatment sessions from certified instructors or practitioners, and pass both the practical and written exams.

You can technically complete the Certificate Program within a 12-month period. However, you need to take into consideration your ability to not only fulfill the requirements but also master the subtle skills necessary to achieve excellence in craniosacral therapy (CST). In order to optimize your skill development, it is recommended (although not required) that you complete the program within three years of registering. Once you register, an instructor/mentor will be assigned to guide you through the process (either Nancy Witt, PT, MSW, CST-D or Einat Arian, ND, PhD, CST-D).

The eyes record everything we encounter. However, formal education forces our eyes into ‘seeing’ a fixed two-dimensional view of the world which robs us and our brain of flexibility. This results in ‘box-thinking.’ Understanding the anatomy of the eyes and the connection to the thalamus and visual cortex helps us release the energy they have had to absorb. In so doing we reduce stress in the eyes, the brain and the entire body. Thurs-Sun, Aug 6-9, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Instructor: Etienne Peirsman. (29 CEUs, PDAs, CMEs)

Survival is the ultimate focus of our body’s systems in order for us to fulfill our life’s purpose and guarantee procreation/evolution. The heightened state of fight or flight causes the ‘stress cascade’. Understanding the brain as an electric system and understanding the nuclei that are involved with the stress cascade gives us the opportunity to release their static electricity - also known as trauma. Sat-Tues, Aug 29-Sept 1, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Instructor: Etienne Peirsman. (29 CEUs, PDAs, CMEs)

When treating sport and work related injuries, understanding the concept of the spine, innervating spinal segments, channel relationships and the role of vertebral fixations and facilitated segments contributing to musculoskeletal injury is crucial. It is imperative for the practitioner to understand that there is a segmental relationship with the spinal cord, the organs (zang fu) and the myofascial tissues that can support health or be adversely affected by their inherent neural and meridian interrelationship. When pathology exists in one area, all tissues associated along the neural pathway will be affected, not unlike the organ and channel relationship where pathology in one ultimately affects the other. Sat-Sun, Sept 19-20, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Instructor: Eric Raymond Buckley. (14 PDAs)
