Cancellation, Transfer & Refund Policies
Cancellations & Refunds
Please submit your request in writing (email or fax). Unless otherwise specified in the individual course descriptions, cancellations or transfers can be made up to 14 calendar days before the first day of the course to receive a refund, less a processing fee ($35 or 20% of tuition, whichever is less). No refunds are granted for cancellations made with less than the 14-day notice, nor for home study courses once the registration and payment have been processed.
Participants registered for the full course will not be refunded for any missed sessions and may not receive certificates of completion for partial completion of a seminar. Bastyr University reserves the right to cancel courses with insufficient enrollment, in which case a full refund will be granted to those registered.
Students may transfer between courses or class sessions. A processing fee will be assessed ($35 or 20% whichever is less). A request for transfer can be made up to 14 days before the first day of the course
Checks returned due to insufficient funds will be assessed a $28 fee.
Bastyr University adheres to FERPA guidelines (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).
In the event of inclement weather or other emergent situations, the University may need to close the campus. If this occurs, our classes will be canceled. Whenever feasible, we will try to notify you of closures via email and/or phone.
To obtain closure information you may:
- Call the Bastyr University weather line at (206) 274-1213 (updated by 6 a.m.)
- Tune into a local radio or TV station, or
- Go to http://schoolreport.org (If Bastyr is not listed on this website then we are open.)
