What we Offer the Wedding Party
The Chapel
Bastyr offers several possible times for wedding ceremonies on Friday nights and weekends. A standard base rate for use of the facility includes a cleaning fee.
We allow four hours per ceremony. This time is allotted for set-up and preparation, the ceremony and breakdown. Also included in the fee is an hour of rehearsal time prior to the event. This schedule allows us the flexibility to offer time for two ceremonies per day.
Private Preparation Rooms
We offer the wedding party two private rooms for changing and preparation during the four-hour rental period.
Privacy during your Wedding Ceremony
The Bastyr Conference Center may have conference groups or university activities booked at the same time as the wedding. However, the chapel area is separate from the main meeting and conference areas. We guarantee privacy to the wedding party in the chapel during scheduled guest time.
Tables and Chairs
Most guests prefer to use the chapel’s wooden pews, which seat up to 250, for guest seating. However, should additional chapel seating be required, chairs and their set-up for up to 450 guests are available for an extra fee. Bastyr will provide up to four tables in the chapel lobby for guest book and gift tables.
Restrooms
Four restrooms are available for guests on the university’s main floor.
Parking and Loading Areas
Ample free parking is available on the Bastyr campus. Please do not park on the grass and please respect areas marked for reserved or disabled parking, as fire lanes or as other designated no-parking areas. There is a loading area available to the wedding party at the rear of the chapel.
Music and Sound Systems
The Bastyr chapel is renowned for its acoustics and is especially suitable for classical instrumental and choral music. An upright piano is available for use during the ceremony. Bastyr University will provide up to four microphones – two cordless/lapel microphones and two lectern/handheld microphones. A CD/cassette player is available for recorded music. Bastyr does not provide any other musical instrument or sound system for singers and/or musicians. If you choose to bring your own sound equipment, it must be totally self-contained and may not be plugged into the Bastyr University system.
Outdoor Areas
Landscaped grounds include an organic herb garden, extensive lawns, courtyards and surrounding woods, with an elaborate nature trail system into the state park. Please speak to a conference services representative to request permission to use the outdoor areas for photographs.
