The principal speaker at the University's 32nd annual commencement ceremony is Jorge Jiménez de la Jara, MD, MPH, Professor of Public Health at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago, Chile.

Bastyr University’s 32nd Annual Commencement Exercises will be on Monday, June 24, 2013 and will award students with doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s degrees in: naturopathic medicine, acupuncture and oriental medicine, nutrition, exercise science and wellness, herbal sciences, health psychology and midwifery as well as certificates in permaculture and chinese herbal medicine.

Principal speaker will be Jorge Jiménez de la Jara, MD, MPH. Professor Jiménez has served as a former Minister of Health and Ambassador to Italy. He has published more than twenty-five books and scores of scholarly articles. Jiménez has worked as a consultant for the Pan American Health Organization, the World Bank, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Inter-American Development Bank and many additional multilateral agencies and non-governmental organizations. Jiménez is the author of Chile’s Alternative Health Policy for the Restoration of Democracy and a passionate activist for equity and social justice.
