Students from area colleges and universities are asked to submit an abstract by May 10 for prizes in the undergraduate, graduate, medical student and post-doctoral fellow categories.

The Bastyr University Undergraduate Committee and the Center for Student Research would like to invite students to participate in the third annual Student Research Symposium.

Undergraduate, graduate and medical students, as well as post-doctoral fellows will have an opportunity to present posters describing their research. Both original research studies and undergraduate projects that summarize the research of other investigators will be considered for presentation. Prizes will be awarded for best poster in the undergraduate, graduate, medical student and post-doctoral fellow categories.

Please submit an abstract by May 10 in order to participate. Abstracts should include a short descriptive title; a brief statement of the study objective; a brief description of methods; a summary of the results; and a statement of the conclusions. The name(s) of the author(s) should be included below the title. Abstracts may not exceed 1,500 characters. Standard abbreviations may be used in the abstract. Non-standard abbreviations should be spelled-out at first occurrence, with the abbreviation in parentheses.

Abstracts should be submitted electronically as Word or PDF files to dspicer@bastyr.edu, with “student research day” in the subject line. You will be notified within one week of your submission whether the abstract has been accepted for presentation. If your abstract is accepted, you also will receive instructions for poster preparation and presentation.
