It is a beautiful thing for couples to do for each other because it promotes communication, closeness, and balance. We will cover reflexology topics such as history, benefits of the technique, and how it promotes health. We will also explore couples issues of communication and boundaries and how to navigate them for success. The primary goal is for you to learn practical skills that can be used right away. This will be accomplished through hands-on practice in a safe and respectful environment.
Upon completion of this workshop you will be able to:
- Describe a brief history of reflexology
- Name three benefits of reflexology
- Identify three current theories of how reflexology works
- Explain how the body is mapped on the foot
- Identify anatomical landmarks on the foot
- Demonstrate reflexology techniques
- List common foot pathologies
- List when reflexology is contraindicated
- Perform a basic reflexology session
- Create a safe and respectful space for you and your partner
- Explore deeper non-verbal communication with your partner
- Understand healthy boundaries with loved ones
