Endometriosis and Breast Cancer
Presenter:
Marianne Marchese, ND

Dr. Marchese will discuss the etiology, diagnosis, evaluation and treatment for these conditions. She will also discuss the environmental links and provide information on environmental testing and treatment.  Participants will understand the link to chemicals in the environment and endometriosis and Breast cancer. Participants will be able to utilize general naturopathic treatments for both endometriosis and breast cancer care. Participants will be able to incorporate general detoxification protocols when managing these conditions.

The Tsunami of Fatty Liver Disease: Naturopathic Approach to Diagnosis and Treatment of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
Presenter:
Lyn Patrick, ND

The tsunami of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, now estimated to occur in 20 percent to 30 percent of the U.S. population, is a spectrum of signs and symptoms that are not constrained to diabetes or obesity. They include the key indications of systemic inflammation that link NAFLD to cardiovascular disease and, if understood, can be effectively treated with naturopathic approaches. This lecture will include information on the diagnosis and management of NAFLD as well as new findings linking environmental exposure to the etiology of NAFLD.

Preconception Detoxification
Presenter:
Bonnie Nedrow, ND

One of the greatest impacts on human health we as naturopathic doctors have is the optimization of the wellness of an unborn and even un-conceived baby. Increasing ease of conception, reducing pregnancy complications, optimizing parental epigenetic expression and reducing the risk of exposure to endocrine disruptors can all be addressed through prenatal detoxification. This lecture will include compelling evidence you can provide your clients with to inspire and motivate them to engage in prenatal detoxification. The lecture will also provide a practical outline of the Let's Detox Together program as developed by Dr. Nedrow and Dr. Rod Newton DC.

The Cure
Presenter:
Owen Miller, ND

Rather than defining ourselves by the tools we use, or the areas of the body we prefer to treat, or the gender and age of our patients or the diseases they have, Dr. Owen Miller will argue for the necessity of defining our profession in terms of our patients primary goal (resolution of disease) and the patient centered process by which we help them achieve that goal. As a practical matter, Dr. Miller will share his patient care methods and present how Metabolic Cleansing (Naturo-Detox) can be an effective platform for both identifying and eliminating the obstacles to cure and stimulating and facilitating the transformational event (healing crisis) which, when paired with comprehensive and resourceful empowerment (medicines, diets, exercise, stress reduction, counseling, body work, etc.), can and does lead the chronically ill to a resolution of their disease: The Cure.

The Role of Environmental Exposures in Thyroid Disease
Presenter:
Lyn Patrick, ND

Thyroid disruptors: polychlorinated biphenyls, dixoins, pthalates, polybrominated dipheylethers (PBDPE) and other halogenated organochlorines have been shown to interfere with the production, transportation and metabolism of thyroid hormones. How do these envrionmental exposures, present in everyone, affect the common thyroid lab abnormalities we see in patients every day and more importantly, how do they cause thyroid disease? How can naturopathic medicine address the role of environmental exposure in thyroid problems? This presentation will discuss both the problem and the naturopathic solution.

Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's Disease
Presenter:
Marianne Marchese, ND

Dr. Marchese will discuss the etiology, diagnosis, evaluation and naturopathic treatments for these conditions. She will also discuss the environmental link and provide information on environmental testing and treatment Participants will understand the link to chemicals in the environment and Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's. Participants will be able to utilize general naturopathic treatments for both Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's. Participants will be able to incorporate general detoxification protocols when managing these conditions.

Drainage vs. Detoxification; accessing physical and energetic dimensions to deal with modern etiologies of chronic disease
Presenter:
Dick Thom, DDS, ND

Chronic disease is the #1 cause of death of our patients. It is widely agreed that this often results from the slow intoxication (both endogenous and exogenous) and the modern physician is faced with the options of treatment of using the popular detoxification therapies or the century old drainage therapies. This presentation will provide a brief history and discussion of each of these important modalities in the modern world of medicine. A treated case of heavy metal toxicity will be presented involving these therapies without the use of oral or IV chelation therapy.
