Bastyr Center for Natural Health is partnering with the American Diabetes Association (ADA), to share our innovative approach to diabetes management and prevention at the 2012 ADA Seattle EXPO.

The EXPO is free and includes health screenings, cooking demonstrations, product and service exhibitors, as well as leading experts talking about diabetes management and prevention.

Bastyr Center's presence at the EXPO tentatively includes:

• A presentation by Bastyr Center clinical faculty member, researcher and diabetes expert Ryan Bradley, ND, MPH.
• The director of the Bastyr University Dining Commons, chef Jim Watkins, will present a healthy cooking demonstration on the cooking stage.
• Bastyr Center physicians and student clinicians will provide health screenings including blood glucose, cholesterol and dietary assessment.
• Bastyr Center physicians and students clinicians will host an interactive booth where participants can learn about managing and preventing diabetes using a sensible whole-body approach, with a focus on diet and nutrition as opposed to pharmaceutical solutions.
