Magnificent tantric Buddhist mandala sand paintings are delicately created grain by grain to generate energies for global healing.

The Tibetan Monks will be creating a sand mandala of the Medicine Buddha (the Buddha for Health and Living) in the Bastyr University Chapel. They will be on campus May 5 -9.

The opening ceremony will take place from 12:00-1:00p.m. in the chapel on Monday, May 5.

The completed Mandala will be open for viewing on Friday May 9, from 11:00-12:00p.m.

Following the viewing, the closing ceremony will take place from 12:00-1:00pm and will include the ceremonial destruction of the mandala and a procession to Lake Washington where the sand will be washed away.
