Land Use

Comprehensive Plan Amendment

Over the coming year, Bastyr University will work with the community and campus planners to draft a revision to its master plan, a document that defines the principles by which the physical spaces of the campus are organized. The master plan will address land use, transportation, infrastructure, open space and other key environmental issues.

As a first step toward preparing the revised plan, Bastyr submitted a proposal to the city of Kenmore requesting that it amend the existing Comprehensive Plan designation for Bastyr University from “Residential (R-4)/ Special Study Area” to a “Public-Private Institution” designation, which is better-suited to the nature and use of Bastyr’s property.
