Participate in a Study

In this pilot study on hyperthermia-based detoxification, volunteers will attend medically monitored one- to two-hour sauna sessions daily for three weeks. Vital signs, urine and, occasionally, blood samples will be collected before, during and after the study. The goal is to assess feasibility, safety, effects on quality of life and wellness, and record changes in PCB concentrations.

This study explores if changes in serum iron levels and iron binding proteins are associated with an increased risk of developing Parkinson's disease. This study focuses on iron changes due to the presence of particular phenotypes, or lifestyle factors, or the interplay between genetic and environmental factors.

Healthy participants are recruited as well as patients affected with Parkinson's disease, in a case/controls study.

Bastyr University is recruiting healthy volunteers to study the effects of Echinacea purpurea on the immune system. Participants will take Echinacea 3 times a day for 10 consecutive days and have their blood collected a total of 7 times over 30 days.

For each blood draw (or three unsuccessful blood draw attempts on one occasion), you will be paid $10.

Study Design

This study has been designed to collect data on the therapies being used by naturopathic physicians to treat multiple sclerosis (MS). The goal of the study is to describe the therapies being used, and any associated side effects, and/or changes in quality of life and disease status.
