Nicholas J.Friedman, ND, DC Nicholas J.Friedman, ND, DC
Interviewed July 2002

Briefly describe your practice (business model):
My practice is primarily an integration of naturopathic and chiropractic care. Or put another way it is a general practice that emphasizes looking at non-disease/functional illnesses and using a combination of diet, herbs, glandulars, vitamins/minerals and structural care. The naturopathic and chiropractic models are integrated and allow me to gather information about a patient efficiently and thoroughly.

How is natural medicine accepted in your region?
Living in the Pacific Northwest, it is highly accepted.

What do you find to be the most interesting aspect of practicing?
The constant personal growth.

What are your overall marketing strategies?
At this point in my career, my goal is to become very visible to the public. I plan on giving free public talks. I also want to offer health advise as an expert through television, radio, newspaper, etc.

What keeps you motivated to practice?
Watching people get better before my eyes.

What’s next for you? Where would you like to place your energies?
My plans are to spend the next 24 months finishing the goals that I had set for myself when I had returned from working in Milan, Italy. One of those goals is to become a better diagnostician. Another is to receive my diplomate in applied kinesiology.

Several years down the road, I want people to think of "Advanced Natural Health Center" as the place to go for any health problem.

What are some of your interests/hobbies outside of healing?
I am an avid bicyclist. I try to ride at least 4 times a week. My goal for the colder, wetter weather is to ride my bicycle to work and to use it for daily commuting around. I am just in the process of learning how to play bridge. This should be a fun challenge. I also enjoy going to the movies and getting together with friends and family.
