Interviewed Fall 2003

Briefly describe your practice (business model): Family practice, midwifery, pediatrics, allergies, digestive complaints, infertility

How is natural medicine accepted in your region? Mixed, some people are very receptive. I am actually giving a talk to MDs at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center - so guess some interest in the medical community

What do you find to be the most interesting aspect of practicing? The challenge of each new patient - and the closeness that you develop with those people.

What are your overall marketing strategies? Website, yellow pages, word of mouth, public speaking, recent local TV interview on infertility

What keeps you motivated to practice? I really love what I do. People get better, take charge of their health, see improvement after so many other treatments that didn’t work, etc. And just being with so many people and hearing their stories is really a gift and an honor.

What’s next for you? Where would you like to place your energies? Maybe more teaching, writing, public outreach. I love the midwifery part of my practice...maybe growing that a bit and adding someone to share call when I’m busy enough.

What are some of your interests/hobbies outside of medicine? My fabulous husband, my cats, bicycling, triathlon, exercise in general - anything outside - x-country skiing, snow-shoeing, hiking, boating, sailing, laying on warm beaches, snorkeling (can you tell I just got back from vacation?).
