Dear Bastyr Alumni! Did you realize this fall marks Bastyr University's 30th anniversary? Anniversaries are important to us – both as a celebration of milestones and to give us a chance to reflect upon what has happened over the years. This certainly must be a poignant time for each and every one of you. You have truly been one of the pioneers in the natural health industry. Congratulations – your accomplishments are extraordinary! Bastyr Founders' Day Weekend is quickly approaching. The celebration kicks off Thursday, October 30, with a special evening of discussion with bestselling author Michael Pollan. The Mission Award ceremony has been moved to and combined with our Founders' Day Celebration Gala on November 1, 2008. Nominations for the recently created Founders' Awards are now being solicited. Help the Association honor those who make significant contributions to the field of natural health sciences by nominating your fellow alumni, colleagues, students and friends. Nominations for the 2008 awards will be accepted until 5 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2008. Awards will be announced and presented at the Founders' Day Celebration. This year marked the completion of a comprehensive Alumni Survey. We will work hard to incorporate the findings and recommendations of this survey into the work we do for you. Thanks to all who provided valuable input; it will be key in developing and improving alumni programs. If it has been a while since your last visit to Bastyr, I encourage you to make a trip. There is no better time to do so than the start of the school year, when students are back and the weather is still warm enough for a stroll through the medicinal herb garden. While you're here, leave your mark with a brick in our new garden path, click here to the brick campaign. Do you have a child, grandchild, niece or nephew just beginning the college search process? Bring them with you and be sure to stop by the Office of Admissions. No matter the reason for your return, we look forward to seeing you soon. |

CPR Training
Is your CPR current? Bastyr offers low cost CPR refresher or initial training courses – either on-campus and on-site – to our alumni. Campus courses are offered at least four times each month; on-site training for groups of four or more is by arrangement.
