Important Dates

Haven't Applied Yet? You Still Have Time
If you're considering applying for a Bastyr program, please note that we are still taking applications for the naturopathic doctoral (ND) program for fall 2007. For all other programs, the priority application deadline is March 15. Also, we are now setting up interviews for the ND and Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM) programs, so some of you will be hearing from us soon. Please contact the Office of Admissions with any questions or visit our website.

Don't Miss Upcoming Financial Aid Priority Deadlines
If you're planning to apply for financial aid, the priority deadline for the ND program is March 31, 2007. For all other programs, the deadline is April 15. Read more about financial aid on our website or contact the Office of Financial Aid at (425) 602-3329.

Explore Bastyr's Programs at Feb. 17 Open House
There's no better way to decide if a Bastyr program is right for you than to attend one of our open houses or information sessions. The next one on the calendar is our Undergraduate and Graduate Programs Open House, which will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2007, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This is a fantastic and fun opportunity to meet faculty and students from all programs, attend information sessions, view demonstrations, tour Bastyr's campus and get all of your questions answered. Find out more.

Discover Our AOM Doctoral Degree by Attending an InfoSession
If you’re interested in learning more about Bastyr’s doctoral program in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM), attend an InfoSession on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 6 p.m. (or find out more at the open house on February 17). Bastyr's DAOM program, which allows you to specialize in cancer care and advanced pain management, is the only accredited DAOM program in the United States. Stay tuned for more details about the InfoSession, and read more about our doctoral program.

Meet Jaclyn Chasse, ND Student and Peer Advisor
Jaclyn Chasse, a fourth-year naturopathic medicine student and a peer advisor in Bastyr’s naturopathic medicine program, has enjoyed Bastyr so much that she wants to help others discover a Bastyr education too. Coming to Bastyr has allowed Jaclyn to remain in touch with nature, to help underserved populations, to expand her network of contacts, and to develop her own style of working with patients. And, through her work in the Office of Admissions, she enjoys welcoming prospective and new students to the program. Find out more about Jaclyn and read her advice for incoming students.

ND Open House Helps Future NDs Find Their Academic "Home"
"I can't even express how much I enjoyed this open house," says a prospective student who attended Bastyr’s recent Naturopathic Medicine Open House. "I learned so much and now feel that I found the program I've been searching for. After listening to the keynote presentation, I knew I was home." During the two-day open house, Bastyr admissions staff hosted 150 students, all considering a career in naturopathic medicine. On Friday, participants met faculty members and toured the teaching clinic. On Saturday they spent time on campus listening to lectures and case reviews, taking campus tours, finding out about financial aid and applying to the program. The Naturopathic Medicine Open House is an annual event. Find out about other Bastyr open houses and informational sessions.

June '07 Herb Fair Will Focus on Environmental Health
Bastyr University’s annual Herb and Food Fair will take place on Saturday, June 2. This year’s event is themed, “A Natural Path to a Healthy Life,” with a focus on environmental health and awareness. The popular fair draws hundreds of people every year to Bastyr’s campus to sample herbs and foods, enjoy free entertainment and walk through our beautiful garden. The keynote speaker will be Amanda McQuade Crawford, an herbalist with over 20 years’ experience in private practice and a highly sought-after speaker on integrated health and herbal medicine. Stop by and purchase locally grown herbs and herbal products, watch cooking demos, enjoy live music and dance, and have an all-around great day in the fields surrounding Bastyr. Stay tuned for more information about this event.
