My daily interactions with students inspire me. Their questions keep me on my toes, and I am exposed to a lot of new ideas that enhance my capabilities as a practitioner. I challenge students to learn all they can and strive to model for them what it means to be a good doctor. Students learn so much by modeling and this makes the Team Care approach of our teaching clinic, Bastyr Center for Natural Health, so beneficial.

At Bastyr Center I supervise general medicine shifts and I see a variety of medical complaints. One great benefit of our clinical training is that students work with a variety of supervisors. They can rotate through clinic shifts under the supervision of two to three different supervisors and experience a very good cross section of approaches to patient evaluation and treatment. In this setting, students learn different approaches to treatment before going out in the world.
