Naturopathic Medicine and Naturopathic Midwifery alumna
I chose Bastyr University because it offered me the opportunity to become a midwife in addition to pursuing a naturopathic medicine degree. My education gave me the tools to be an excellent doctor. At Bastyr I learned to practice medicine I believe in. I can use my education to empower my patients and their families on their journeys toward healthier living.
I have realized medicine can be very simple things: water, fresh air, sleep. Bastyr really taught us to live our philosophy, and I grew and healed myself in beautiful ways throughout the process. The instructors' love, support and encouragement carried me through even when school was difficult. The community at Bastyr is awesome.
When I first read the mission statement for Bastyr, I thought, This is the medicine I'm looking for. When I first came down the serene wooded drive I had that "aha mom 5nt" — I knew the school was for me. And in every way it lived up to my expectations.
