When I became a student at Bastyr University in the naturopathic medicine and acupuncture programs, I already had a Master of Science degree in nutrition and a chiropractic degree. Although I was practicing as a chiropractor, my education at Bastyr allowed me to integrate more therapies into my practice, giving me a much more holistic perspective. My education at Bastyr University has allowed me to address what I call the 'triad of health,' which includes the mind-body connection, the body's biochemistry, and the body's structural health.
In my private practice, I think of myself as a one-stop health care shop where people can receive chiropractic services, acupuncture and naturopathic care. Many of my patients really appreciate having access to so many therapies. Almost on a weekly basis, people come in to see me who have been in pain for months or have seen many other kinds of practitioners with no relief. In a short amount of time, I am able to give them full range of motion and significant pain relief. They don't feel like they have to keep coming back over and over again to get well. That is very rewarding and brings me a lot of satisfaction each day.
