What I appreciate most about Bastyr's program is the vast experience of the core faculty members. The Chinese doctors on our faculty have such deep knowledge of Chinese medicine, and many are the premier experts in the world — they are the true masters.

I also appreciate that Bastyr University views acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) and Western medicine as complementary. The University provides training both in Western medicine and AOM, thereby bridging both worlds. During my clinical training at Bastyr Center for Natural Health, I not only helped treat patients successfully with AOM, but I also learned about Western physiology, diagnoses and pharmacology.

Now, as I begin work as a licensed acupuncturist in an integrative medicine office in Seattle, I feel confident overseeing patients' Chinese medical treatments, as well as referring them to receive Western medical tests. In today's medical environment, having these integrative skills is extremely important.
