Bastyr University definitely changed my life. I received so much nourishment while I attended school. The University has a sense of community that I had never experienced before, and I really flourished there. I got involved in the community, taking positions as a member of the student council and as a student representative for the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP). Through those experiences, I gained confidence and clarity about who I am and what my role is as a natural health care provider. Now I know that a large part of my career will involve the political and legislative side of natural medicine, where I'll work to help give more people access to this type of health care.
One of the best parts of my education was treating patients at the teaching clinic. Seeing how natural medicine positively affects patients is inspiring, and I fell in love with the medicine every day. Patients appreciate having a space to say things they might never have said to a doctor before.
