Seattle's Space Needle Outdoor recreational opportunities abound in the Puget Sound area, with the lure of freshwater lakes, beaches, rain forests, vast woodlands, the San Juan Islands, the Cascade Mountain range, Mt. Rainier and the Olympic National Parks. Or take a ferry ride to one of Puget Sound's neighboring islands.

The environment directly surrounding Bastyr includes the suburban community of Kenmore. Located right on the shore of Lake Washington, Kenmore is west of Seattle and north of Bellevue. The neighboring suburb of Kirkland, a quaint lakeside community to the southeast, offers shops, restaurants and waterside parks.

Seattle Summer

For many, the Northwest is the perfect place to be a student. The weather is mild, the scenery is beautiful -- and the rain makes sitting inside studying all day that much easier.
