Daniel C. Rosen, PhD

Health Psychology

Education
PhD in Counseling Psychology from Arizona State University; M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota; B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Rosen completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Behavioral Medicine Program at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School.

Past Experience
Dr. Rosen founded the non-profit organization AWARE in 2000, whose mission is to enhance the effectiveness of health care practitioners by providing opportunities for cross-cultural learning and exchange. Most recently, he has served as a Research Fellow and Consultant at the Center for Multicultural Mental Health Research at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School.

Current Roles
As core faculty in the Counseling and Health Psychology Department, Dr. Rosen teaches multiple courses to both graduate and undergraduate students. Additionally, he serves as a clinical supervisor for counseling at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health and has a private practice in Seattle.

Interests
Dr. Rosen’s published works have focused on multicultural psychology, social justice in mental health, American Jewish identity, and the experiences of individuals with disabilities. His interests extend to the areas of health psychology, behavioral medicine, and mindfulness.
