Lee Johnson, 1942-2008
Lee E. Johnson
1942 - 2008

On August 18, 2008, Lee E. Johnson, a member of the Bastyr University Board of Trustees, succumbed to cancer at his Mercer Island, Washington home. An intellectual property lawyer and founding member of the firm Christensen O'Connor Johnson Kindness, Johnson served as president of the Washington State Patent Law Association and on numerous committees of the Washington State Bar Association and American Intellectual Property Law Association. He had served only two years of his first term as a Bastyr University trustee and although his tenure was short, his impact was large. His was always a voice of reason and practicality on any matter under deliberation and his style was gentle and gracious. His wisdom was highly respected and will be deeply missed.

A strong supporter of Bastyr University and its mission to educate future leaders in the natural health arts and sciences, Johnson recently indicated his intention to establish the Lee and Janet Johnson Scholarship for students at Bastyr University. Bastyr would like to honor Trustee Johnson and his contributions to the University through the Lee and Janet Johnson Scholarship Fund.

If you would like to celebrate the life and legacy of Lee Johnson through a contribution to the Lee and Janet Johnson Scholarship Fund, please make a contribution online or contact Christy Cronn at (425) 602-3050.
